Acme Chemicals

Acme Chemicals is located on Samuel Street in the Vadgadi area. This is the old heart of the chemical trade in Mumbai. Our office is in New Bhagwan Bhuvan, which is one of those old buildings where you can smell the history of the market. It’s very crowded around here, with handcarts and lorries constantly trying to get through the narrow lanes. We’ve been operating from this spot for a long time. We deal in various industrial chemicals. Most of our day is spent talking to traders and customers who walk in. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. You know your neighbors and you know the people you buy from. We don't have a corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just us and a few helpers. The paperwork is always piled up on the desks, and the fans are always humming. We deal with the usual challenges of an old market, like power cuts or heavy rains flooding the streets. But we stay because this is where the business is. People come to Vadgadi when they need chemicals, and they know where to find us. We don't use much technology besides the basics. It’s about the relationships we’ve built over the years. We just keep doing what we've always done, providing the chemicals that people ask for and keeping our word on the price. It's a loud and hectic place to be, but we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves anywhere else.
