Abhijit Electronics

Abhijit Electronics is situated in the B I T Chawl on Dr Maheshwari Road in Mazgaon. It is very close to the Sandhurst Road Railway Station, so you can always hear the trains passing by throughout the day and night. Working in a chawl is a different experience compared to a modern office. There is always someone walking by the door and a lot of noise from the neighbors. We do a lot of electronics work here, mostly repairs and fixing things that people bring in from the local area. The space is small and we have shelves stacked high with parts, wires, and old television sets. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when more than two people are inside. We have a small workbench where most of the actual work happens under a bright lamp. Mazgaon is an old part of the city and we have been part of this community for years. Most of our customers are just people living in the chawl or in the buildings nearby who have something that stopped working. We don't have any fancy signs or a website. People just know that Abhijit is here near the station. Sometimes we sit on the steps outside during the evening just to watch the crowd coming off the trains. It’s a simple business, focused on fixing things and making sure we can help out the people who live around us.
