If you walk down Juhu Versova Link Road in Andheri West, you’ll find us at Shop No 525 in Ganesh Nagar. We’re right there in Godagalli Chawl, tucked in among all the other local shops. Abbas Hair Cutting Saloon has been a part of this neighborhood for quite a long time now. The shop is small, with just enough room for the chairs and a few people waiting their turn on the bench. We have the usual mirrors and the sound of the ceiling fan clicking overhead. It’s a busy spot, especially on Sunday mornings when everyone wants to look sharp for the week ahead. We don’t have fancy chairs or expensive lighting, just the basic tools and a bit of conversation. You’ll hear a lot of local talk here—about the cricket scores or how the traffic is getting worse on the link road. The smell of aftershave and hair tonic is always in the air. We know most of the people who come in by their first names because they’ve been coming here since they were kids. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the door wider to let the light in. It’s a simple way of life. We keep the floor swept as much as we can, but hair gets everywhere anyway. It’s just how a real barbershop is supposed to feel, and we’re happy to keep it that way for everyone. The street outside never sleeps.
