We’ve been tucked away in 65 Bala Sinor Society for quite a while now. It’s right across from the fire brigade on S V Road, so there’s always something going on outside. Kandivali West is a loud, busy place and our spot reflects that. The building isn't brand new or anything, it has its quirks like any old society building. We spend most of our time at the front desk or in the small rooms. People from the neighborhood usually just walk in because they know where we are. It’s not a fancy corporate setup. We have some old files and some chairs that have seen better days. When the fire trucks go out, everything stops for a second because of the noise. It’s just part of our daily routine here. Sometimes the tea guy from down the street brings over a tray for the staff. We don't have a big cafeteria or anything like that. It’s just a practical place for people who need help. The hallways are a bit narrow and we have to move things around sometimes to make space. It feels like a real part of the community though. Most of us have worked here long enough to know the regular faces. We don't go in for big signs or flashy lights. Just the name on the door and the address everyone knows. It’s a bit cramped during peak hours but we manage to get things done without any fuss.
