A1 Hair Cutting Saloon is located at Shop No 5 on S. S Gaikwad Street, right in the A. P. Market area of Dhobi Talao. This part of the city is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it. Our shop is quite small, just enough room for the barber chairs and a few people waiting. We have a big mirror that runs along the main wall. It’s an old-school kind of place where you can get a haircut without any drama. We don't do fancy spa treatments or anything like that. It’s just scissors, combs, and a straight razor for the shaves. The smell of talcum powder and aftershave is always hanging in the air. We’ve got a radio that usually plays some old songs in the background. Most of our customers have been coming here for years. They come in for a trim and to chat about whatever is going on in the market. It’s a friendly atmosphere, even if it gets a bit loud when everyone is talking at once. We don’t have fancy lighting or expensive furniture. The chairs are old but comfortable. We keep the floor swept as much as we can, but hair gets everywhere when it’s busy. We open early in the morning because the market workers like to get their hair done before they start their shift. It’s a simple life running a local shop like this.
