A1 Auto Parts sits over in Borivali East, near B T Camp 9. If you walk into our place, you’ll see shelves stacked high with all sorts of things, and there is usually a bit of dust on the boxes. We don’t try to keep it looking like a showroom because it’s a parts shop, not a museum. Most of the guys who work here have grease under their fingernails and know exactly where every bolt and belt is hidden. We’ve been in this neighborhood long enough that we know the local mechanics and the people who like to fix their own cars on the weekends. It gets pretty loud on the street outside, but we don't mind. We talk to people about what’s wrong with their vehicles and try to find what they need. Sometimes we have to dig through the back to find an older part, but that is part of the job. We don’t have a website with fancy buttons or anything. People usually just call us or stop by when they’re in a pinch. It’s a simple life here in Borivali. We open up early, drink some chai, and see who comes through the door. It’s just us doing our thing day after day, helping people get back on the road without any extra talk. The shop floor is concrete and cold, but the atmosphere is always friendly enough once we start talking engines.
