A K Instruments

The shop at A K Instruments is tucked away near Grant Road, right in that busy stretch not too far from the Bank of Maharashtra. It’s one of those parts of the city that never really goes quiet, even late in the evening. We spend most of our hours here surrounded by tools and various pieces of equipment, mostly just focusing on whatever is on the bench that day. The light in the shop isn't always the brightest, so we have a few extra lamps set up around the workspace. It’s a bit cramped with all the shelves we’ve put up over the years to hold the parts we need. We get a lot of dust from the street, so there’s always a cloth handy to wipe things down. Most of the people who stop by are regulars who have been coming to this area for years. We don’t have any big signs or fancy decorations, just the name on the door and the work we do inside. It’s a steady kind of life, coming in every morning and seeing the same familiar faces walking past the window. Sometimes the rain makes the roof leak a tiny bit near the back, but we just put a bucket there and carry on. It’s just how things are in these older buildings. We like being close to the station though, as it makes the commute much easier than if we were further out.
