A K Chemi-dyes Enterprises is located in the heart of Masjid Bunder West, specifically at 13 Issaji Street on Nikol Road. If you have ever been to Masjid Bunder, you know it is one of the most crowded places in Mumbai. Our shop is on a street that is constantly packed with handcarts, delivery vans, and people carrying heavy bags. We deal with various chemicals and dyes, so the shop often has a very particular sharp smell that you get used to after a few minutes. The floors and the counters usually have some spots of color on them, no matter how much we try to scrub them clean. It is the kind of place where space is at a premium, so we have barrels and bags stacked right up to the ceiling. We spend a lot of time measuring out powders and liquids for customers who come in looking for specific shades. The building itself, Khimji Meghji, is an old one with narrow stairs and a lot of history. Working here means dealing with the heat and the constant shouting of the street outside.
