Our place is right on the 8-A National Highway, near the toll naka at Dhuva. Being so close to the highway makes it easy for the big trucks to get in and out, though the noise from the traffic never really stops. We specialize in vitrified tiles. These are the harder, shiny tiles you see in a lot of newer houses and offices. It’s a technical process to get them right, and we spend most of our time hovering over the machines or checking the polishing section for errors. The factory floor is a busy place and it stays pretty warm throughout the day. We aren't interested in using big words or fancy slogans to describe what we do here. It’s just manufacturing. We have a crew that’s been with us since we started, and we all just pitch in where it's needed most. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend the whole night getting it fixed, but that’s just part of the trade. We keep our samples in a small room near the entrance so visitors can feel the finish and see the colors. We don't have a receptionist in a suit; you’ll usually find someone in work clothes who can tell you what’s in stock and what's coming off the line next. It’s a straightforward way of doing business. We produce the tiles, we box them up, and we send them out. It’s been our way of life in Wankaner for years.
