Lakhadhirpur Road is one of those places that never really sleeps. Our spot for Flora Ceramic Pvt. Ltd. is at number 8-A on the National Highway, which is basically the heart of the ceramic zone. Being part of this area means we are surrounded by a huge network of factories all squeezed together along the road. It’s a lot of noise from the heavy lorries and the sound of machines humming in the background all day long. We don't have a polished front desk or a lobby with plants; it’s mostly just pallets of tiles and the smell of industrial work. Every morning starts with checking the kilns and seeing what the overnight shift finished. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend the whole morning fixing a belt or a motor. That’s just how it goes in this business. We deal with a lot of different people, from truck drivers looking for directions to local guys needing a few boxes for a small repair at home. The highway is always busy, so getting in and out of the gate can be a bit of a challenge during peak hours. We’ve been at this for a while and we don’t really think much about it, we just get the work done. The sun hits the highway hard in the middle of the day, so we mostly stay inside near the fans when we aren't out on the factory floor.
