Sunbeam Silver Art Industries

Our workshop is right on Railway Road, and if you need to mail us anything, it goes to P.O. Box 525. Being near the tracks means you get used to the vibration of the trains passing by every hour. Sunbeam Silver Art Industries has been around this part of town for a long time. The air in the shop always has a bit of a metallic smell to it because of the silver we work with. It gets on your clothes and your hands, and by the end of the day, everyone has a bit of a grey tint to their skin. We have these big heavy workbenches that have been passed down through a couple of different owners. They are scarred and burnt in places, but they are solid. We don’t really use fancy machines for everything; a lot of it is just hammers and small files. It is noisy and sometimes the dust makes you sneeze, but that is the nature of silver work. We keep the P.O. Box because sometimes the mail on Railway Road is a bit unreliable with all the commotion. It is a bit of a walk to check the box, but it’s a good excuse to get out of the shop for a few minutes. We aren't looking to change much about how we do things, as the old way works well enough for us.
