Imperial Gifts

Our shop, Imperial Gifts, is inside the Old Ice Factory building in Galshaheed. It’s a strange place for a gift shop if you think about it, but the old building has a lot of character. We have shelves filled with all sorts of things like clocks, figurines, and small items people buy for birthdays or weddings. The walls are thick because it used to be an ice factory, so it stays relatively cool inside even when the sun is out. Galshaheed is a busy area and it can get quite loud outside with the local traffic. We spend a lot of time dusting the shelves because the gifts need to look clean when someone picks them up. I usually sit at the counter near the front door so I can see people coming in. We don't have a lot of space, so everything is packed in pretty tight. Sometimes I have to move three boxes just to find one specific item a customer saw in the window. The lighting isn't the best, but we have some lamps scattered around to help out. It’s a family-run thing and we don't really do big advertisements. People in the neighborhood just walk in when they need a present for someone. It’s a quiet way to spend the day, just wrapping items in paper and talking to the regulars. The old factory floor is still there under the carpet we put down.
