You can find us at J.S. House, which is located right in Mandi Chowk on Sahu Street. It’s an older part of the city, and the streets around here are quite narrow and winding. J. S. Table Ware is run from this spot, and we’ve become a bit of a fixture in the neighborhood over the years. The building itself has been around for a long time and has that solid, old-fashioned feel that you just don't see much in the newer parts of town. We spend our days surrounded by plates, bowls, and all sorts of things meant for the dinner table. It can get a bit dusty with all the ceramic and glass items being moved around, so we’re always wiping things down with old rags. There’s a lot of history in this street, and we can hear the sounds of the local market and people talking all day long through the windows. We don't have a fancy showroom with spotlights. Most of our space is actually used for storing our stock. We know most of our regular customers by name, or at least we recognize their faces when they walk in through the door. We aren't trying to change the world or do anything revolutionary; we just want to provide decent tablewares to the people who need them. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because the big trucks simply can't get through the narrow lanes of Sahu Street. We just take it in stride and wait. It’s a slow and steady kind of business. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the local news while we work. It’s a comfortable, normal way to live.
