We are based in the village of Soop, which is in the Meerut district. You can find us at House Number 1, care of Bilendra. Our group is the Unnatkisan Bio Energy Farmer Producer Company. We are a bunch of local farmers from around Meerut who wanted to see if we could do more with our crops. Bio energy sounds like a big word, but for us, it’s just about finding new ways to use what we grow and the waste that’s left over. We are tired of just burning stuff or throwing it away. We meet up at the house in Soop to talk about how we can get better results. It’s a very local thing. We don't have a fancy board of directors or a big office building. It’s mostly just us in our work clothes sitting in a circle. Meerut is a place with a lot of history in farming, and we are just trying to add a new chapter to it. Some days it feels like we are making progress, and other days it’s just hard work with no clear end. We don't promise anyone that we are the best or anything like that. We are just trying to be useful. If you are in the VPO Soop area, you’ll probably see us around. We’re just regular people trying to make farming a bit more modern without losing our roots.
