If you head down toward the Sohrab Gate Bus Depot in Meerut, you’ll find us in the Industrial Area at Pratappur. It’s a noisy part of town with buses constantly coming and going, but it’s a good spot for us because people know where it is. We’ve been working with stone here for quite a while. The yard is usually full of slabs and the sound of the cutting wheels. It’s not the cleanest job in the world. You go home with dust on your clothes and in your hair every day. But we don't mind it. We have a small crew and we all know our roles. Some guys are better at the polishing, while others are quick with the measurements. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just open the gates in the morning and start working. Sometimes people come in asking for pieces for a small bathroom, and other times it’s a big project. We treat it all the same. We just show them what we’ve got sitting in the racks. The weather gets really hot in the summer here, and the stone gets warm to the touch, so we try to do the heaviest work early. It’s just a regular local business. Sometimes the traffic from the depot makes it hard for our deliveries to get out on time, but we just plan around it. Our yard isn't the prettiest, with scraps of stone piled up in the corners, but it's a working yard. It's honest work and it keeps us busy.
