Shrinathji Marbles

Down in Bhainsa Village, life moves a bit slower than in the city. Our place, Shrinathji Marbles, is tucked away in the Mawana Block of the Meerut District. We get our mail through the Mawana Post Office. It’s a rural area, mostly surrounded by fields and local houses. We started this business because there was a need for good stone in the village and the nearby towns. The yard is quite large, which is good because we have plenty of room to spread out the marble slabs so people can see the veins and colors. It’s mostly just a few of us working here. We don't use much technology; we just use our eyes and our hands. The road to the village can be a bit bumpy for the big trucks, but they manage to get through. On rainy days, the ground gets muddy and we have to be careful with the loading. People around here know us by name. We don't do any advertising. If someone needs marble for a floor or a kitchen, they just drive over to Bhainsa. We usually have a pot of tea going for whoever stops by. It’s a quiet existence compared to the big marble markets, but we prefer it that way. We just keep our heads down and handle the stone as it comes in.
