Simbhaoli Farmers Producer Company Limited

Out here in Buxer village, things move at their own speed. Hari Dutt’s place is where we handle all the company business. It’s located near Simbhaoli, not far from Garhmukteshwar. We’ve been farming these fields for as long as I can remember, so forming this company just felt like the right thing to do next. It’s mostly just us neighbors and friends. We get together to talk about what fertilizer is working or how to get the old tractors running again. It’s definitely not a fancy operation. The office is just a small spot to keep the papers and some grain samples. We get a lot of dust blowing in during the summer months. Working as a group means we don't get pushed around as much by the people who buy our crops. It’s about being sensible and looking out for each other. We know the soil here better than anyone else ever could. Sometimes the electricity goes out for half the day and we just have to sit and wait it out. That’s just part of living in the village. We don't have fancy job titles or anything like that. We just do the work that needs doing. Everyone in the village knows everyone else, so we have to keep things honest. No need for complicated plans or big speeches. We just want to farm and get by.
