Our little framing shop is located in Bhagat Singh Market along Hapur Road in Meerut. We spend most of our time surrounded by strips of wood, sheets of glass, and a lot of dust from the saw. People bring in all sorts of things they want to keep safe, like old family photos, religious pictures, or certificates their children won at school. We have to be very careful with the measurements because even a tiny mistake means the glass won't fit right. The market outside is always noisy, but inside here, it's mostly the sound of the hammer or the glass cutter. We have samples of different frames hanging on the walls so people can pick what they like. Some frames are simple and thin, while others are a bit more heavy and decorated. It takes a few days to finish a job usually, as we have to make sure the corners are joined properly. The shop smells a bit like glue and wood shavings. We’ve been in Meerut for a while now, and many of the shopkeepers around here are our friends. We don't have a big corporate office or anything, just this workspace in the market. It’s a bit messy with all the scraps on the floor, but that’s just how a framing place looks when work is being done. We just try to do a solid job so people’s pictures look good on their walls.
