Classic Handicrafts

Our shop is at number 173-A on Abu Lane in the Cantt area. This is a very lively street with people moving back and forth all day long. Classic Handicrafts has been a part of this market for a long time. Walking inside, you will see items stacked from the floor almost to the ceiling. We have all kinds of things made from wood, brass, and other materials. The smell of old wood and polish is always in the air here. Because space is tight, you have to walk carefully so you do not knock anything over. Most of what we sell comes from local craftsmen who have been making these designs for generations. Shelves need dusting often because the road outside brings in a lot of dirt. It is a never-ending task for us. We do not have a big staff, usually just one or two of us behind the counter. Newspaper and bubble wrap are what we use to pack everything for the customers. Sometimes we sit on the steps outside and watch the rickshaws go by when there are no customers. We do not do any big advertisements or have a fancy website. People just know we are here on Abu Lane if they need something handmade. It is a steady way to live and we enjoy being part of the local market community. We hope people keep liking these crafts.
