Mangalore Marine College

Mangalore Marine College is located out at Padil Padavu in the Kelinjar area. The mailing address is Kuppepadavu Post, Mangalore. It’s in the Dakshina Kannada district here in Karnataka, with the pin code 575002. Since we are a marine college, things are a bit different than a regular arts or science school. We have students who are interested in the sea and ships. The location is a bit away from the main Mangalore city, which is fine because we have the space we need. The building is pretty functional. We have labs and classrooms and some outdoor areas too. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but the students don't seem to mind. We aren't a big corporate entity. It’s just a group of us running the college day by day. We don't use any of those fancy slogans. People come to us because they want to learn about marine life and work. The weather in Mangalore can be quite rainy, so we spend a lot of time making sure the roofs don't leak and the grounds are clear. It’s a practical place for practical learning. If you follow the road to Kuppepadavu, you will find us at Padil Padavu. It’s a quiet spot, good for focusing on the work. We just keep our heads down and do our jobs. There’s a lot to learn about the ocean, and we just provide the space for it.
