Our spot is a little hard to find if you aren't looking for it. We’re in the basement of the Shree Nidhi Complex, right near the Bajpe bus stand. Being downstairs means it stays a bit cooler than the street level, but we don’t get much natural light. We usually have the overhead tubes on all day. You can hear the buses pulling in and out upstairs, and the muffled sound of the conductors shouting destinations. It’s a constant background noise that we’ve stopped noticing. The space is a bit small, Door No. 3/159 A(2) to be exact. We’ve got our desks pushed up against the walls to make room for the files. It’s a busy little office. We don't have a waiting room with magazines or anything like that. If someone comes by, they usually just pull up a stool. We spend a lot of time on our computers and sometimes the internet goes slow when it rains, which happens a lot around here. We usually grab snacks from the vendors near the bus stand. The fried stuff they sell is probably not great for us, but it’s convenient. We’re just a small crew working in a basement. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby. We just handle the business we have and try to get home before the evening rush at the bus stand gets too crazy. It’s just a normal job in a busy part of town.
