Syra Spices Private Limited

If you drive down Cumbumettu Road, you will find us at B9 Udhayam Nagar. Syra Spices is our little operation here in the 4-5-45E building. The air around here usually smells like cardamom or pepper depending on what we are sorting that day. It is a strong smell that stays on your clothes even after you go home. We spend most of our time dealing with the farmers who bring in their harvests from the nearby hills. There is a lot of checking to do, making sure the stuff is good enough to sell. We don't have a giant factory, just a decent space where we can dry things and pack them up properly. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that's just life in this area. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for a while now. They know exactly how to spot the good stuff from the bad. It is a lot of manual work, lifting heavy sacks and moving things around the warehouse. We aren't trying to be the biggest spice company in the world, just trying to do a good job with what we have. My desk is usually covered in sample bags and bits of paper with notes on them. It’s a bit chaotic during the peak season, but we manage to get everything sent out on time. It gets tiring but we like the work.
