Penny Cuick Collective Farming Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are located over in Ammapatty, which is a small spot in the Theni district. Our place is on East Street, at number 177/W5. It is a collective group and we named it after Penny Cuick because of the history with the water and the dams in this region. Most of us are just local farmers who decided it was better to work as one big group rather than staying separate and struggling. Theni is a beautiful place to live but the work in the fields is quite hard. We spend most of our time out in the dirt and then we come back to the East Street office to sort out the logistics and the accounts. It is not a fancy office at all, just a practical place for us to keep the books and meet up once a week. We deal with whatever the members are growing, mostly things that do well in this specific climate. You can find us at the office most days unless we are out at the market or checking on the irrigation pipes. We do not really do the whole corporate thing because it doesn't fit who we are. We talk like regular people. Some of us have been farming these same plots since we were young kids. This company helps us buy things in bulk and sell what we grow without too many middle men taking a cut. It is a simple arrangement that works well.
