Murugan Driving School

Our driving school is right in the middle of everything in Madurai. We are at number 14, over by the Periyar Bus Stand in Alagappa Nagar. It is a very busy part of town, especially being so near the Meenachi Temple. You can always hear the horns and the people walking by. We have been teaching folks how to handle a car for a long time now. The traffic around the bus stand is a great place for students to learn because if you can drive here, you can drive anywhere. We spend most of our time in the cars, sitting in the passenger seat and trying to stay calm while someone else grinds the gears. The office is just a small place where we keep the registers and the forms for the licenses. Sometimes it gets really hot in the afternoons, so we try to schedule the lessons for earlier or later when the sun isn't so sharp. We see all kinds of people, from young kids getting their first license to older folks who finally decided it was time to learn. We don't use any fancy simulators or anything, just real cars on the real roads of Madurai. It’s simple work but we like being part of the community here and seeing people finally get the hang of the steering wheel after a few tries. Even the noise from the bus stand doesn't bother us much anymore.
