Mritsna Farm School

Mritsna Farm School is located out in Thenpalanji, which is a quiet spot a little ways from Madurai. It is a different kind of place because we are actually based on a working farm. You won't find many tall buildings or paved parking lots when you visit us. Instead, there is a lot of dirt, green plants, and wide open space. We spend a lot of our time outdoors. It is just the way things are done here in Thenpalanji. The air out here is a bit fresher than what you find in the middle of Madurai city. We have some simple structures for when we need to be inside for lessons, but the farm itself is the main thing. People who come here usually don't mind getting their hands a little dirty in the soil. We deal with the weather as it comes, whether it is pouring rain or the sun is beating down on the open fields. It is a very practical sort of place to be. We don't use big words or fancy brochures to try and sell what we do. We just grow things and learn about the land while we are doing it. The local workers help out and the students get to see how things really work in nature. It is quiet most of the time, except for the birds and the sound of an occasional tractor. We like it that way and the students seem to adjust to the farm life quickly.
