Karisal Collective Farm Producer Company Limited

Our group, Karisal Collective Farm Producer Company Limited, is located at No.3/205(1) in Thirumanampatti, which is near Theppakulathupatti and Alagupatti. The name Karisal refers to the heavy black soil that is so common in our part of the country. It’s good for farming but can be very stubborn to work with. We’re a bunch of local farmers who decided that we should work together instead of competing. Our office is just a small room where we handle the essential paperwork. We don't have any air conditioning or fancy furniture. It’s a place for business, not for show. Most of our time is spent out on the land, dealing with the daily struggles of farming. We talk a lot about the water levels and the price of diesel for the pumps. It’s a tough life, and we don't try to pretend otherwise. Being a collective helps us when it comes to buying supplies or finding buyers for our harvests. We aren't some big corporation from the city; we’re people whose families have lived in Alagupatti for generations. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit overwhelming, but we help each other out. We don't have a mission statement or any of that corporate talk. We just want to make sure that our farms stay productive and that we can provide for our families. It’s basic, honest work that keeps us tied to the land.
