Chitramezhi Farmers Producer Company Limited

Up here on Akilmedu 7th Street, you’ll find us most days at number 17/5. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that, just a spot where the Chitramezhi Farmers Producer Company Limited crew hangs out to get the daily work done. Usually, the room is a bit crowded because we have farmers coming in and out from the fields nearby to talk about their crops or check on some paperwork. The ceiling fan makes a lot of noise, but we don't mind it much since it keeps the heat away. We spend a lot of time just figuring out how to get things from the farm to the market without making a mess of it. There’s a lot of sitting around the old wooden table, drinking tea, and looking at scribbled notes. Most of us have known each other for years, so it’s not very formal here. If someone is late, they usually have a good excuse about their tractor or the rain. We aren’t trying to be some big corporate entity with shiny floors. We are just local people in this part of town trying to make sure everyone gets a fair shake. Sometimes the street gets blocked by a truck, and we have to go out and help move things. It’s just how it goes on Akilmedu. We handle everything right here from this small building, mostly focusing on what our neighbors are growing this season.
