Vicky Beauty Collections

Vicky Beauty Collections is our little shop located in Karimpura Bazar, right near Karabara Chowk. It is a very lively part of town where you can find almost anything if you look hard enough. We mostly keep things that women like, such as bangles, makeup, and different kinds of hair accessories. The shelves are packed tight with little boxes and bottles. Sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what someone is asking for, so we have to dig through the drawers. It gets quite colorful in here with all the different shades of lipstick and the glitter from the jewelry. The shop isn't very big, so when four or five people come in at once, it feels very crowded and we have to be careful not to knock anything over. Outside, the chowk is always full of traffic and people heading to the other stalls. We usually have some music playing softly on a small radio to drown out the honking from the street. My sister helps me out on the busy days when everyone is preparing for a festival or a wedding. We spend a lot of time just dusting the glass cases because the street dust settles on everything so quickly. It’s not a fancy boutique, just a local spot where people come to get their daily beauty needs. We don't use any big words to describe what we do; we just try to keep the popular colors in stock and be helpful when someone can't decide.
