T. A. Engineers Corp. (India)

At 357, Bhagwan Chowk, you’ll find the workshop of T. A. Engineers Corp. (India). It’s right in the thick of things. Bhagwan Chowk is always buzzing with people and vehicles, so there’s never a dull moment outside our windows. Inside, the air is thick with the smell of cutting oil and metal shavings. We do a lot of engineering work, which basically means we spend our time around lathes and milling machines. It’s messy work. Your hands are never really clean, no matter how much soap you use at the end of the day. We have a few benches where we lay out the blueprints, though they often get a few oil spots on them. Most of our customers are local folks who need something specific made or repaired. They know they can just walk in and find us. We don’t have a receptionist; you just have to shout over the noise of the machines to get someone’s attention. We have an old radio in the corner that plays local music, though you can only hear it when the machines are off for a break. It’s a straightforward life. We take the raw metal, turn it into something useful, and move on to the next job. It’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it at Bhagwan Chowk for a long time. We plan on staying here as long as the work keeps coming in through the door.
