Sunny Hair Saloon

We are located out on Radha Swami Road in Ludhiana, right on the main road. It is a dusty stretch of road, especially when the trucks go past, so we have to wipe the glass every couple of hours. Being near the Radha Swami Satsang Ghar means it gets very crowded on certain days of the week. We have to keep a lot of water ready because it gets so hot in the summer here. The shop itself is simple, with three main chairs and a small area in the back where we keep the extra towels. We use a lot of talcum powder, so the air usually smells a bit like that. The ceiling fan wobbles a little when it's on the highest setting, but it works. We don't have any air conditioning, just the breeze from the door and the fans. People stop in while they are on their way to work or after they finish. It’s a working-class area, so nobody is looking for anything too fancy. We just do standard cuts and shaves. The floor is concrete and we've painted it a few times, but it wears down where we stand. We usually have the radio playing some local music in the background, not too loud though. It’s a plain place, but it serves the folks on Gill Road well enough. We stay open late most nights because that's when the laborers come by after their shifts.
