Shiv Hardware Store

Being on Samrala Road means there is always noise from the traffic outside. Shiv Hardware Store is located at Plot No.4640/1, which is right near the P.N.B Bank. It’s a handy spot because people come to the bank and then realize they need a hammer or some nails. We have shelves filled with all sorts of metal bits, tools, and heavy boxes that we have to move around constantly. My hands are usually a bit dirty from touching all the inventory. It’s not a clean job, but someone has to do it. The shop is small and can get a bit cramped when we get a big delivery. We spend a lot of time counting screws or trying to find a specific size of bolt for someone who isn't sure what they need. There is a lot of dust that settles on everything, so we are always wiping things down. It’s just how hardware stores are, I guess. We open up early and stay until the evening, watching the cars go by on the road. The light in here isn't the best, but we know where everything is kept. Sometimes we just sit on the stools and wait for the next person to walk in with a broken part they need to replace. It’s a simple way to make a living, just helping out with building stuff.
