We are over at 765-A Lakkar Bazar, very close to the Sabji Mandi. It’s a lively spot to be in, especially in the mornings when the market is in full swing. S S Mech Works is a small operation where we take care of all sorts of mechanical repairs and bits of fabrication. The shop is usually cluttered with iron rods, tools, and half-finished projects. We don’t have much room for a desk, so we usually just stand around the workbench to talk to customers. The air smells like welding and old metal. We've been here for years, and we've seen the Lakkar Bazar area grow and change. It’s a lot of manual labor, and our hands are rarely clean, but we enjoy the work. We aren't the type to use big words or fancy brochures. If something is broken, we look at it and see if it can be fixed. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to find the right part, especially for the older machines people bring in. We have a few regular customers who come by just to see what we are working on today. It’s a friendly enough place, even if it looks a bit rough around the edges. Being near the vegetable market means there is always food and tea nearby, which is nice during long shifts. We just keep doing our thing and helping out whoever walks through the door with a mechanical problem. We don’t have a big corporate team, just us here in the bazaar.
