Rocky Hair Saloon

Our place is Shop No.3 on Mata Gujri Main Road. It’s right there in Haibowal Khurd. We are quite close to the Gurudwara so there are always people walking by. Being in Ludhiana 141004 means it’s a pretty lively part of town. Rocky Hair Saloon is just a regular local shop. We have the usual stuff like mirrors and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. We spend most of our time standing on our feet. It gets tiring but that’s the job. People come in from the main road when they need a trim. We don't have a lot of space for people to wait so sometimes they stand outside on the pavement. The street noise is always there in the background. We know most of the shopkeepers nearby. We grab tea from the stall down the way when there is a break. It is just a practical place for a haircut. No one is looking for anything fancy when they come here. They just want to look decent and get back to their day. We keep the scissors moving and the floor swept when we can. Haibowal Khurd has changed a lot but we are still in the same spot. It’s a small shop but it’s ours. We don't use any big machines or computers for anything. We just write things down in a notebook if we need to remember them.
