You can find Ravi Karyana Store near the Sunate Darwaza here in Ludhiana. It’s a well-known landmark, so we aren’t hard to spot. Being in the 141003 area means we see a lot of different people every day. Some are just passing through, but most are regulars who live nearby. We sell the basic things every kitchen needs. Spices, grains, oil, that sort of thing. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things pretty high. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped when three or four people are inside at once. We’ve been here for years, and the building shows its age a little, but it works for us. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or bright lights. We'd rather just keep the staples in stock and ready. If you need something specific and we don't have it, we usually try to get it in the next day. The morning time is the busiest when everyone is getting stuff for breakfast. Then it quiets down until the evening. We handle everything ourselves, from lifting the heavy sacks to counting the coins at night. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. The Sunate Darwaza is a busy place, and we like being part of the noise and the life here. It’s just a plain karyana store doing its thing for the neighborhood. We are just simple people running a simple shop for our neighbors.
