Our forge is situated out on the Sahnewal Link Road, near Ramgarh. It’s right off the Chandigarh Road, which stays pretty busy with traffic heading in and out of the city. We’ve got a big metal shed where all the actual forging happens. It’s a hot and noisy environment, especially during the summer months when the sun hits the roof. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big lobby. People who need to find us usually know the landmarks around V. & P.O. Ramgarh. We spend most of our time dealing with raw steel and big hammers. It’s the kind of work that makes your ears ring if you aren't wearing protection. We’ve been here for a good stretch of years, and the crew is mostly local guys from the village. We don’t do any of that corporate stuff. We just get the orders, heat the metal, and shape it. Some days the machines act up and we have to spend half the morning fixing a press, but that’s just how it goes in a forge. The road outside can get quite muddy when it rains, making it a bit of a mess for the delivery trucks. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s honest, physical labor. If you’re coming from Chandigarh, you’ll see the turnoff after you pass the main village area. We’re usually around from early morning and stay until the last job is finished.
