R K Flat Mechanical Works is tucked away in Sunder Nagar, specifically in the Jagat Nagar area. We are right behind Bapu School, so we hear the bell ring every few hours and the kids running around outside when they get out for the day. Our shop is a straightforward place where we handle mechanical jobs. We focus a lot on flat mechanical parts and the kind of machinery that requires a steady hand and a bit of patience. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a regular workspace with heavy doors and a concrete floor that has seen a lot of use over the years. We have got our lathes and milling tools set up in a way that makes sense to us, even if it looks a bit crowded to someone walking in from the street. It gets pretty hot in here during the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and keep working. Most of the people who come to us are locals or small business owners from around Sunder Nagar who need something fixed or a part made to a certain size. We do not do much talking; we just listen to what needs to be done and then we get to it. Sometimes we have a backlog of work sitting in the corner, but we manage to get through it piece by piece. It is a simple life here, just metal and machines and the daily routine of the neighborhood.
