Puri Mill Store

You can find us right near Campa Cola Chowk, which everyone in Ludhiana knows well. Puri Mill Store is at number 2 in the Manikaran Tool Market. It’s a busy corner. There’s always someone asking for directions or a place to park their bike. Our shop is filled with mill supplies and all sorts of tools. We have stuff hanging from the ceiling and piled in the corners because space is tight. It’s a bit of a maze. If you come in looking for a specific bolt or a belt, we probably have it buried somewhere in the back. The air in the market always smells like roasted nuts from the vendor down the street mixed with the metallic scent of our inventory. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that wobble a bit when they are on high. It gets pretty hot in the summer, but we’re used to it after all these years. We’ve been part of this tool market for a generation. My father started the store and I just kept it going. We know the other shop owners around Campa Cola Chowk, so we often trade stories or help each other out with change when a customer pays with a big bill. It’s not a fancy business. We don't have a catalog to show you. You just come in, tell us what you’re building or fixing, and we’ll see what’s on the shelf. That’s how we’ve always done it at number 2.
