Punu Di Hatti

Punu Di Hatti is our little shop on Devji Ratansey Marg in the Civil Line area. The name has been with the family for a long time. People around here just call it the Hatti. We sell a bit of everything, mostly stuff you need for the kitchen or the house. It’s not like those big supermarkets where you can’t find anyone to help you. Here, you just walk in and ask, and we probably have it tucked away on a shelf somewhere. The shop is old, and it smells like spices and soap sometimes. Civil Line is a bit more relaxed than the center of town, but we still stay busy. We know which neighbors like which brand of tea. It’s that kind of place. I grew up in this shop, watching my father handle the customers. Now I do the same. We don’t have fancy barcodes or anything; we just know the prices. Sometimes we run out of things, but we always get more in a day or two. It’s a simple life, running a store like this. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We just provide the basics and a bit of conversation if someone isn’t in a hurry. Devji Ratansey Marg is a nice street, and we’re happy to be part of it. If you’re walking by, you’ll see the bags of flour and pulses near the door. We aren't looking to change much, just keeping the shop going as it always has.
