Onkar Tent & Lights

Onkar Tent & Lights is over in Islam Ganj, specifically at number 16 in the Feild Ganj area. This neighborhood is very crowded and the streets are quite narrow. We have a lot of stuff stored here, like folded tents, poles, and boxes of light bulbs. It’s a bit of a squeeze to fit everything in, but we make it work. Most of our work happens away from the shop when we go out to set things up for local events or weddings. The shop is more of a base where we load and unload the trucks. It can be very chaotic during the wedding season. We are often up at odd hours, either very early or very late, depending on when the party ends. Onkar Tent & Lights has been a family-run thing for a while. We don't have a professional decorator or anything, we just know how to put things up so they stay. Sometimes the bulbs break during transport, so we are always checking our stock. The neighbors know us well because they see us hauling heavy gear in and out all the time. Sometimes they complain when we are loading the trucks at four in the morning, but we try to be as quiet as possible. We have an old ledger where we write everything down because we don't use the computer for much besides the basics. The shop itself is just a regular room with shelves and some old chairs.
