P K Electric Works

If you head down to Partap Chowk on Sir P T Marg, you will see P K Electric Works. We are right near Gentleman Sweets, which is a good landmark if you are hungry after visiting us. Our shop is filled with wires, motors, and old electrical components. It looks like a mess to some people, but we know where everything is. We spend our days rewinding motors and fixing all sorts of electrical gadgets. It is a lot of sitting at a bench with a soldering iron or a pair of pliers. My hands are usually stained with grease or copper dust by the end of the day. We do not have a fancy cooling system in here, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum along with the machines. We do not use a lot of technical jargon when we talk to people. If something is broken, we tell them why and how much it will cost to fix. We do not have a big marketing budget, so we just rely on people coming back because we treated them fair the first time. Sometimes we get a really old motor that takes a few days to figure out. We do not give up on them easily. It is satisfying to see an old machine hum back to life. That is why we stay in this business. It is a lot of tinkering and testing.
