Ollega Hair Saloon

Running a saloon on Mall Road in Ludhiana is quite a task because it is always so busy outside. You can hear the cars and the people shouting all day long. Ollega Hair Saloon is right in the middle of Civil Lines and we get all sorts of people coming in. Some are businessmen who want to look sharp for a meeting and others are just workers taking a break. I keep the shop open late because that is when most people have time. The shop itself is not very big. I have two people working with me and we try to keep things moving so nobody has to wait too long on the wooden bench. The walls are painted a light color but they need a new coat soon. I don't use any expensive products, just what you find in the local market. Ludhiana is a city where everyone is trying to make a living and I am just doing the same. I learned this trade from a friend many years ago. It is honest work. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of big fans that stay on all day in the heat. Sometimes we share a pot of tea with the customers if it is a slow afternoon. It feels more like a community spot than a business. I don't believe in charging too much. It is just a haircut after all.
