Oberoi Beauty Centre

You can find us in Jagraon, not too far from Kukkar Chowk. It’s a familiar spot for anyone living around this part of Ludhiana. Oberoi Beauty Centre has been operating out of this small space for quite a while now. The building is a bit old, but we’ve tried to keep the inside tidy enough for people to feel okay sitting down. There are a couple of sinks for washing hair and a few big mirrors on the walls. Most of the time, the fan is humming in the corner to keep the heat away. We see a lot of different faces every day. Some people just want a quick trim while others are here for something longer. It gets really busy on weekends when everyone seems to have a function to go to. We don't have a big waiting area, so sometimes people just stand outside or chat near the entrance. The street outside can be quite dusty, especially when the wind picks up near the chowk. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to mask the sound of the horns. It's not a corporate setup by any means. We just handle the work as it comes in. Our towels are clean but they’ve been washed so many times they aren’t very soft anymore. That is just how it is in a local shop like ours. We just keep going every day and doing the job.
