Neelum Foundry Works

Neelum Foundry Works has been over here at 2497/7 Dhuri Line for a long time. Being right by the rail line means you get used to the sound of trains passing by while you work. The foundry is a hot place, there is no way around that. We deal with molten metal and sand molds all day long. It is old-fashioned work, and we still do a lot of things the way they were done thirty years ago. The walls are stained with soot, and the floor is mostly sand and iron scraps. It is not a place for nice clothes. We usually wear our old boots and heavy gloves because things get very hot very fast. People come to us when they need a specific casting that they can't find in a store. We take the pattern, set the mold, and pour the metal. It is satisfying to see the liquid iron turn into a solid part. Sometimes the molds don't come out perfect and we have to do them over, but that is just part of the job. Dhuri Line is a quiet enough area when the trains aren't whistling past. We know most of the other shop owners around here. We aren't looking to become a giant company; we just want to keep the furnace running and keep our regulars happy with the parts we make.
