National Repair Centre

We are located right on Daba Road, just opposite Nirmal Palace. It is a good landmark because everyone knows the palace. Our place is called National Repair Centre. Most of our day involves fixing things that have stopped working. People bring in all sorts of mechanical stuff. Daba Road is always noisy with trucks and bikes passing by, so we fit right in with the sound of our own tools. We have been here for a long time and the shop has seen a lot of different repairs come through the door. It is a simple setup. We have some sturdy tables, a few heavy-duty machines, and shelves full of old parts that might come in handy one day. We don’t have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. People usually just stand around and talk to us while we look at their equipment. Sometimes we are working late into the evening when there is a lot to catch up on. Being across from Nirmal Palace makes it easy for folks to find us even if they aren't from this exact part of town. The floor gets greasy and we use a lot of rags to keep our hands somewhat clean. We just take things one job at a time. It’s a basic life but it’s what we know. Fixing things is what we do at National Repair Centre, and we just keep plugging away at it until the day is over and we can head home.
