Nath Store

If you are ever driving down the Raikot Road in Jagraon, you will find our store near Chungi Number 05. We are right next to the Sonalika agency, so there are always tractors parked around and farmers coming in to talk. Our store isn't very big, but we try to keep a bit of everything that people might need. It is quite cluttered inside with boxes stacked almost to the ceiling. Sometimes it is hard to remember exactly where the smaller items were put last week. It is just a local shop for the neighborhood. We know almost everyone who walks through the door by their name. We talk about the local crops and when the rain might finally come. It is a good spot to hear all the news of the town. The floor is made of old wood and it tends to creak when you walk near the counter. We don't have any air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that hum all day long. I usually sit near the front door to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. We aren't trying to be a big modern supermarket or anything like that. It is just a place to buy your daily goods without any fuss or trouble. Sometimes we run out of things and have to tell people to come back tomorrow after the delivery truck arrives. It is a slow pace of life here in Jagraon. We’ve seen the kids here grow up and start their own families. It feels good to be part of the community.
