Nanaksar Tent House

Working out of Gill Malhar Road 33 keeps us pretty busy most weeks. The yard is always full of iron poles, folded fabric, and heavy ropes. It’s physically hard work, especially when the weather isn’t helping us out. We spend a lot of our time loading and unloading the big truck. My hands are always a bit rough and calloused from handling the ropes and canvas. People come to us when they have a family function or a small gathering in the neighborhood. We don’t do anything flashy or high-end. It’s just simple tents and plastic chairs, mostly. The storage area in the back is a bit of a mess, but we always manage to find what we need eventually. When it’s the main wedding season, we hardly get any sleep at all. We’re out late at night setting up and then back early in the morning to take everything down again. The traffic on Gill Malhar Road can be a total nightmare in the evenings. Sometimes we’re stuck for an hour just trying to get the truck out of our own lane. I’ve lived around this area for years, so I know all the little shortcuts to avoid the worst of it. It’s a family thing, really. My brother helps out with the heavy lifting. We don't have a fancy office, just a small desk in the corner of the warehouse. It’s dusty and noisy, but it’s where we do our business. It's just a job.
