Munna Motor Winding Works

You can find us at Fountain Chowk on Barodas Street. We are right opposite the Carriage Ground Stadium N. It’s a noisy part of town because of the stadium and the traffic around the chowk. At Munna Motor Winding Works, we spend our time with copper wire and burnt-out motors. It is dirty work, but someone has to do it. When a motor stops, people bring it here to get it rewound. My hands are usually stained black from the old grease. Barodas Street is always moving with people going to the stadium or the market. Our shop is small and full of heavy items. You have to watch where you step because there are motors on the floor everywhere. We don't have fancy chairs or a waiting room. Usually, customers just stand and talk while we look at their machines. The heat from the soldering iron is always there. It gets quite loud with the fans and the traffic outside. I’ve been at this spot for a long time. The stadium across the street is a good landmark for people who haven't been here before. We just do the work and try to get things back to the owners as fast as we can. It’s a basic setup. We have our tools, our wire, and the experience of years of doing this every single day. There isn't much more to it than hard work and keeping the motors spinning.
