Monika Beauty Parlour And Boutique is situated in Dhandhari Khurd, right near the High Secondary School in Ludhiana. Our shop is at Shop No.10, close to the railway crossing and Gurdwara Wali Gali. It is a busy little corner of the world with students walking by and trains passing every so often. We do two things here, beauty services and some boutique work. It means we help with hair and skin but also deal with clothes and stitching. It is a small shop but we manage to fit everything in. The noise from the railway crossing is something we are just used to now. People from the village and the school staff often drop in. We have sewing machines on one side and the parlour chairs on the other. It keeps us pretty busy during the wedding season when everyone wants new outfits and to look their best. It is a simple place, not one of those big malls. We use basic tools and have some fabrics tucked away in the corners. Most of the ladies around here know us well. We talk while we work on a suit or trim someone's hair. It’s a local business that serves the people living near the crossing. We try to get things done on time even when there are a lot of orders piled up. It is just a regular shop in a regular part of Ludhiana, doing its own thing day after day.
