Jass Beauty Parlour

Our shop is on Main ATI Road in the New Amar Nagar part of Janta Nagar, here in Ludhiana. It is a very local neighborhood. Most of the people we see are our neighbors or people who live just a few streets away. We have been running this place for a while. It has become a bit of a daily routine for us. We open up, get the water heating, and start organizing our supplies for the day ahead. The street outside can be quite narrow. It gets busy with bikes and people walking by. Inside, it’s a bit more relaxed. We stay busy with haircuts and other beauty work though. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment. We just use the stuff that works and helps us do our jobs properly. We spend a lot of time talking while we work. We talk about things happening in New Amar Nagar or what people are planning for the weekend. It is a small space. Things can get a bit cramped when a few people are waiting, but nobody seems to mind much. We just keep the floor swept and the tools clean. It is a very straightforward way to earn a living. We enjoy being part of the local community. Every day is a bit different depending on who walks in. The work stays the same—just helping people look a bit neater and feeling a little better.
