Hind Forgings

If you are driving down G.T. Road near Sherpur Chowk, you have probably passed by us without even realizing it. We are situated right in that busy stretch near the NPC Tempo Union, so there is always a constant stream of trucks and tempos parked along the side of the road. The noise from the traffic is constant and it gets quite dusty with all the vehicles kicking up dirt from the road. Our workspace is big and open because forgings need a lot of room and it gets incredibly hot inside during the summer months. We have high ceilings to try and let some of the heat out, but it doesn't always help. The hammers and tools we use are heavy and you can feel the floor vibrate when the work is really going strong. It is not a clean job by any means; everyone ends up with soot and grease on their clothes by lunch. We usually have a bit of a lunch break together sitting on whatever crates are empty at the time. The tempo union guys are always coming over to chat or ask for a glass of water, so it feels like a very busy part of the city. We just keep our heads down and get the metal worked the way it needs to be. There isn't much time for anything else besides the actual work.
